As the sun has set on this Friday night, tonight’s most beautiful light is A is for Adelaide. We are honored to introduce the Adelaide Binkeez for Comfort.
We had the honor to meet Addie right before her family traveled to have both casts removed from her legs after very brave surgery.
As shared from her blog:
Our story began in Providence, RI. It was expected and not expected all at one in an experience that can be described only as: what just happened? It was, all the same, perfect.
On April 17, 2012 a daughter was born! Adelaide Eileen Martinka came into this world after over 36 hours of labor weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces and 18 inches long.
June 22, 2012 during an unrelated hospitalization, Addie was diagnosed with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism caused by a mutation in the FGFR3 gene.
Her parents mission is to educate others, promote knowledge of dwarfism AND share the importance of self-care and fitness for us all doing the work to make a better future.
